Can the S&W M&P Compact Suppressor Ready in 22 LR model have the threaded portion removed so it is essentially the same size as the Compact. Conversely can the Compact model have the adapter added so that it is like the Compact Suppressor model.

Unless something has changed for the .22lr, Yes to both. The .22lr models already have a threaded barrel and a thread protector. The. "Suppressor Ready" includes the adapter to mount a suppressor.
