S&W M&P COMPACT

I have noticed a number of the owners of the M&P Compact 22 had difficulty removing the factory installed thread protector. Most of these were dated some time ago. Has S&W now corrected this obvious defect? Considering buying the compact I already have the Walther/S&W full size 22 with the 12 round magazines.

The adaptor was tight on a Compact owned several years ago , I didn't need to remove it . The adaptor kept coming loose on new Compact bought last month. I cleaned the threads with alcohol , Blue Locktite and tightened a little with taped pliers. I fired several mags today but had forgot to check if loose.
