Yes, I have one, Jimmy. Mine is the one with the 4"barrel and 15 round magazines. I love it. It belonged to my son who purchased it new. When they came out with the same gun with a 3.6" barrel, he wanted one. He also wanted a rifle that I had pretty bad, so I offered to take the M&P 9 in on trade for the rifle. Allowed him what he had paid for it, and he jumped at the chance. He had bought it when there was a MFG rebate and bought it right. He later purchased the M&P 9 that he wanted and both of us are very happy.

I also own a full size model of the M&P 9 1.0 (5' barrel) that both my wife and I like a great deal. It shoots very well, and both of us can handle it and rack the slide easily, and it holds 17 rounds in the mag. We primarily use this one for our bedside handgun, and as a "car gun" when we travel. The 4" has now become our dedicated car gun, while the 5" stands by 24/7 at home.

I really do like the M&P 2.0 4". Feels good in my hands, shoots very well, has plenty of ammo capacity, and my wife likes it too. Being familiar with the 1.0 full size, the drill for her is exactly the same for the 2.0, and she can manipulate it just as easily so she is always glad to have it at hand while travelling, etc. It's just a bit of a smaller package for us. Nothing but good things to say about the 2.0 4" barrel for both of us. Interesting that she can rack the slide on both the M&P 9 large frames easily, but has now become unable to rack the slide easily on her Shield 9. I agree with your comment that this handgun handles and balances well. With it, and the EDC that is always on my person, we feel very secure and well prepared with plenty of ammo with the 2.0 and a couple of extra magazines full of ammo suitable for serious social encounters!

Between my son and I, the 2.0 probably has been fired between 500 and a thousand rounds, with absolutely no issues experienced. We love it, and I'll bet you would also. Best of all, if you are close enough with your son, you should be able to shoot his copy and find out exactly how well it works for you before buying one. A suggestion for a good online vendor for this gun, take a look at Sportsmans Outdoor Superstore. My son and I have both purchased multiple guns from this vendor with complete satisfaction and quickly delivered purchases to our local FFL who receives them.

My #1 Son new purchase is a S&W M&P Model 2.0 9mm.
I like the handling and balance of this Model.

Does anyone have and use one ?

Thanks,
Jimmy

I just bought the MP 2.0 and love it. The only reason I bought it is because the magazines are stainless and more corrosion resistant where my P320 and Beretta APX are made of carbon steel and will rust if you are not wiping it down daily.

That said the MP 2.0 compact 4" model is definitely better than a Glock 19 but compared to the P320 X5 Legion, the Legion hands down is much softer recoil and better trigger but my MP 2.0 is still a fun gun for CCW and plinking at range

I've got the 4.25" version with 17 round mags and I really like it.

When I run the El Presidente drill, I'm about a second faster with the M&P vs my 1911. With the Smith I can reach the mag release and the slide lock without shifting my grip, which allows the faster time.

I'm really digging this gun! [emoji16]

I have a 4" Compact. I put an Apex sear in it and the trigger is fantastic. I really like that pistol.

I was a huge Glock fan until I shot the 4.25inch 2.0 in 9mm. It was a friends. I already liked the grip and such but his 1.0's had issues.

Anyhow I bought my own and have since bought more M&P 2.0's and have sold all but one Glock at this point.

My 4.25inch 2.0 is my favorite pistol to shoot. I have only changed the stock sights and have no plans to do anything to the trigger. My trigger is really good, almost too light to be honest.

I just bought a new M&P 2.0 9mm, full size. Wish I hadn't. Brand new, out of the box, the trigger pull was 14 lbs and I had to depress the trigger fully against the rear of the trigger guard to fire it. Plus I could not load either magazine, even with an Adco loader. I live in Mass., so these are 10 round mags. I sent it back to S&W, requesting the trigger be repaired and the mags repaired/replaced. It came back today after one month. The trigger is better, neither mag was repaired. In a very frustrating call to S&W today I was informed they cannot repair or replace mags ! Also told me they can't ship mags to me although they have in the past.
At this point I am wondering if these 10 round mags have the wrong springs but don't know how to tell.
Suggestions ?

I'm a long time Glock fan. I've carried them for duty and off-duty as either department-issued or personally owned. I tried the M1.0 versions in 9mm, .40 and .45, both full-sized, compacts and Shields. Since retirement and the arrival of the M2.0 guns, I bought a 3.6" 9mm compact. i was impressed, I bought a 5" 9mm next and then a 4.5" .45. These are seriously strong competition for the Glocks. I find I'm getting rid of more and more Glocks and intend to buy more M&Ps.

I have yet to swap out any triggers, or any other parts for that matter. I find the M2.0 triggers are quite good, although I may swap for Apex trigger shoes eventually. I've had no malfunctions. I intend to buy a 4" 9mm compact next. I hope to see the M2.0 CORE soon so I can scratch my full sized RMR/RDS itch (I already have the 4" Shield PC M&P with RDS). Next, I'm hoping S&W will put together a 5" 10mm M&P milled for an RDS.

You like I are in the people's republic of MA. The M&P's here have a 10# trigger. Get a free state spring and you won't believe the difference. Brownell's has them and they are fairly easy to replace. Or do the APex

I was a long time Glock user for my PD job. 19 years with a personally owned, very early 2nd Gen G21, a couple years with a PD issued Gen4 G22, then 2 or 3 years with a personally owned 3rd Gen G19. I have had quite a few issues over the years with Glock's customer service and corporate policies and was looking for something different. I looked around and didn't find anything that I really liked, that I could find a basketweave Safariland duty holster for anyway (the PD requires basketweave holsters and all I will use for duty holsters is Safariland). I had tried several different versions of the older M&Ps and, while I loved the ergonomics, I HATED the triggers, Mushy and squishy with no discernible reset.

When S&W came out with the M&P 2.0, an online acquaintance talked me into buying on. To me, they were everything the 1.0 versions weren't. VERY ergonomic and feels like it was made for my hand. While it wasn't a lot more accurate than my G19, the way the gun fit me and worked made it a lot easier to shoot well than the G19. The trigger is GREAT! Reasonable pull weight (I don't have a trigger scale, I'd guesstimate it breaks at about 5 lbs), VERY smooth after breaking it in, very light takeup till you hit the wall, then a smooth, crisp break. The reset is lightning fast and, while not as audible or tactile as a Glock, it is a LOT more audible and tactile than the 1.0 versions and more than good enough.

The grip texture is the elephant in the room. Initially, I loved the rough texture. It really planted the gun in my hand and it didn't move a bit, even with wet and sweaty hands. The problem started when I started carrying it. The texture is rough enough that, with long sleeve polyester duty shirts, the texture was abrading and pilling the inside of the right sleeve just from my arm occasionally brushing the holstered gun when walking. In short sleeves, when hot and sweaty, the grip texture sometimes irritates my inner right arm, again just from occasionally brushing it when walking. I tried carrying it IWB a few times and the texture REALLY irritates my side. I took a little sandpaper to the grip, and the issues with my uniform shirt sleeve and bare inner arm are gone, but it's still too rough for IWB. I'm going to sand the left side of the grip a little more when the weather cools off some and I can work in the garage without sweating my tail end off and we'll see how it works.

Despite the texture issue, I love the pistol enough that I spent the cash to buy a Safariland ALS duty holster, which added about $100.00 to the cost and I am using it as my duty gun. I love it enough that the only thing that may (may, not definite) make me give it up is an all black, non-Performance Center 5" version.

Overall, the 2.0 is a GREAT handgun. I love mine and carry it on duty. As far as I'm concerned, that should be the highest praise anyone could pay it, that they consider it duty ready and would willingly carry it. Mine is personally owned, so I obviously willingly carry it. It pairs up well with the old 9mm Shield I carry off duty, too.

I have had the 1.0 in the past and Loved it. I ended up trading it for something I thought I needed more.

Yesterday at the LGS I saw a very good priced 4.25" 17 round 2.0. Bought it right up. Perfect trigger and just a great pistol. Very proud to have one in the stable/night stand again. Yes I painted the Billboard on it. I like it with the extra bling.

I have the 4.25" full size 2.0 and a 3.6" compact 2.0. Both are great guns, triggers are fine as they came from the box. Also have a 4.6" 2.0 in .45 that is amazingly soft shooting for a .45.

I have two M2.0's a 15 round and a 17 round model.
Replaced the trigger with a flat trigger kit (Apex) and the sights and it is much better for me.
I do not shoot either well enough to carry. They are range guns only.

I bet my life on mine, every time I leave the house and venture out into the big city. Shoot standard pressure 147 grains for smoother shooting.
