Very nice looking and excellent photography.

Being new to the AR rifle world, I hate to show my ignorance, but what makes it "recce" specifically?

There is a recce pic thread on the arf website. This is a quote i pulled from the first page of that thread.

Posted By Phoebus:
A Recce rifle is generally considered to be a carbine with a 16", high quality barrel, free-floated (often extended) rail, and some sort of optic. Info on the "official" configuration can be found here: Wiki Linky.

The basic idea is a combat carbine that is designed to also be used for precision fire, and that is adaptable to many missions via the rail system, while maintaining its accuracy.

Not sure I would consider this recce but possibly a loose interpretation. I like it a lot but will likely be swapping the Primary Arms 1-4 for the 1-6 they have coming out. Just because...

Nice!!

The 1-6x24 is priced through the roof. I looked long and hard at them before I went with the much more affordable vortex 1.5-4x24.
How much is PA pricing them at?

They haven't announced a price yet but it looks like it will be available in the next month or so. Some are speculating under $275. We'll see!

What Bipod are you using? Model number, where purchased, price? Also, I am looking to install it on my original handrail. Do I need some kind of attachment?

the Recce "spec" is pretty loose, with really only defined as a 16" FF 1:8 Heavy profile barrel and optics of some sort, and a suppressor - pretty much everything else is up to operator preference ie buttstock, rail, optics, etc...

I got a new M&P VTACH II AR. I guess it would fall into the Recce category since I do have an optic on it?

What does your total package now weigh?

Probably almost twice the stock weight. Around 12 I would guess. I would like it to be lighter but I can never decide what to take off. The weight only bothers me if I spend all day shooting off hand.

I suppose so. Wish I would have know which direction I was going to go with my ar. I would have bought the vtach II and saved myself a few upgrades.
