I pushed the buy button today. It seemed like an average price.

I seen prices on guns international were the s&w m57 8 3/8" are $1,800 / $1,900?

Some Smith's are averaging $750 to $1,200 now.

It's in that world famous s&w nickel finish. And it's in a wooden presentation case with the tools/accessories. So in not sure of the year.

Any thoughts?

You don't state what you gave, but I will tell you this: I have a NIB 57 8-3/8" no dash nickel in presentation case in my safe. I would probably sell it for somewhere around $1100, and case and all are immaculate.

Depends on whether you are looking for another shooter or a safe queen... in my situation, when I bought this one it was because I was trying to obtain all the 57s in barrel lengths and finishes. It became futile due to the different variations Smith offered, so this one is just one of "several" I still own.

Regardless, still a very nice acquisition, and in my honest opinion, easier to clean than a blued one...

What price did you pay? I have a ANIB, M57 Blued 8 3/8, presentation case & tools that I bought a couple of years ago for $800. I suspect that is has gone up in price, but not that much.

I paid $1,150. But the seller hasn't called me back yet.

I see these hitting $1,900 on guns international.

I have a NIB never shot m57 / 6" in nickel. Now I'll have the 8 3/8" in nickel.

I think I did ok price wise.

I think a few 8 3/8" barrels are needed. A m27, a m29, a m57 would be ok.

I was able to complete my nickel 57 group when a friend sold me his 6". The 8 3/8 gun was gun only for $750 last year. I have $2050 in the group and I am happy with that. I have shot all three and they are incredible to shoot. The 8 3/8" shoots like a rifle. I know you will enjoy yours. If these look familiar it's probably because I have posted them before. Ammo is expensive for the non-reloader but at the end of the day it's worth it.
