While I have only one Model 64 and it's a no dash and a snub nose I think it's perfect.

I like 64s also. I have one but not a snub. I love the 64s with the standard barrel. I never ran on to one for sale. They are getting harder to find and more $$$.

The 4"/heavy-barrel 64s are a great bargain. I picked up a 64-6 round butt DAO from J&G sorta thinking about converting it to a 3" gun. But the gun is too nice to chop. And frankly, it's a joy to shoot "as is". The gun has quickly wormed its way into my heart for two wonderful traits: it shoots very precisely to POA and its finish requires little care. The trigger could use some polishing, but I've noticed improvement in the short time I've owned the gun by simply dry firing and live firing. (I suspect it had experienced little of either in its previous life).

This one is ultimate...a surplus guard gun I got cheap and sent back to S&W for an action tune. I polished the minor dings and scratches out and added a nice set of stocks, along with a Tyler T...a superb shooter that looks good and didn't cost a fortune. Love the RB 64!

I've owned my 64-5 with a 3in barrel since the beginning of this year and the frame is identical to yours. Please tell me about both the ammo and grip that you're using. I really would like to know.

Here is my Model 64 - tapered barrel with round butt. I had the factory install the barrel for me. It was expensive, but I really like it.
