S&W Military Reinforced Model... Anyone Have one? (3rd Mod 44)

I love the opportunity to dig out the 3rd model W&k's Reinforcements.
First is a 5" nickel gun that has been renickelled, marked HPD 38 on the backstrap. Possibly in the same March 1931 shipment as the one posted by Quinn in the opening post. The letter says one of 26 units in this configuration.

Next is a W&K with their steer head grips, with no engraving. It is a 4" which I find much handier. It also is original nickel finish that has been renickelled. Shipped July 27, 1928. Once owned and lettered by Hank Williams Jr, and came with a vintage Berns Martin Speed holster.

I would love to have an example of a Wolf & Klar catalog. Thanks for posting that page out of it. Neato to see the reference to the Triple Lock right there in the catalog.

"... a general favorite on the market previously and is still remembered."

Search ebay for catalog reproductions. There's a company called Cornell Publications; call Abby at 810 225 3075. They have hundreds of reprints and very inexpensive. If they don't have it and an original is loaned to them, they'll copy it and you get your copy for free.

Jim: To the best of my knowledge Cornell has never reprinted any W&K catalog. I have done some research and it seems the catalog is very scarce. Another forum member has a copy of this same catalog #16. A damaged copy of #14 sold on eBay in 2010 IIRC. These are the only 3 I could find any trace of though one would think there must be more out there. It is, however, a distributor catalog so possibly only sent to retailers. I searched a while for this one. I talked to several folks who had heard about it but never seen it. One of those was able to put me in touch with the owner who graciously allowed me to add it to my stash. As I get the chance to carefully photograph pages, I am posting them on the forum. A couple of weeks ago I posted the holster section pages.
