S&W Mod 10-5 D840*** can it handle +P?

Recently acquired a Mod 10-5 ser#D840332. 2 questions
1. I would like more information from the serial number?
2. Was this revolver was intended for +P ammo?

While I'm not sure of the DOB, your gun will handle +P absent any problems. I use +P in my no dash 442 from '92 & no problems ever.

According to S&W and all steel revolver that has a model number (1957 and on) can be safely shot with factory .38 Special +P ammo. Your Model 10 obviously fits that criteria.
