Thank you for your response I believe you are right on one correction I should have put in the post it is a 10-5 with I believe to be a very low serial number unless the snub nose was in limited production. It belonged to a dear friend of mine who was a local area police detective who just retired a few days ago with 25 years of meritorious service.Welcome to the Forum! You have a desirable snubnose Model 10 from 1968, most likely a Model 10-6. Looking at your stocks (grips), they don't appear to have a diamond around the screw so that also dates your revolver (the diamond center in the walnut stocks was deleted in 1968). It definitely shows some wear and use, but that's just part of its history. Do you have any provenance for this revolver...family history, police dept. connections? It should be a fun shooter. Enjoy!
