More information needed. Condition is important. Pictures please. A beater $200 a pristine example might be worth a lot more especially to a police revolver collector. The serial number would help narrow down the date. You can sub XX fro the last 3 digits if you worry a lot

Without the serial number we cannot tell you what year the gun shipped, only a range of several years for the 10-5. Photos showing condition would be helpful. Value would generally run from less than $450 to $800 depending on condition and other factors

What does the NPD 18 stand for? If it is a police department marking there are many, probably hundreds, of cities, townships, counties and states that could be represented by just the letter "N".

All s&W swing-out cylinder guns are hand ejectors. The serial number is on the butt of the gun and will contain a letter and up to six numerals. The 5 digit number you show is probably the "assembly number" that means nothing once the gun is completed.

The serial # 33062

Hi
Sorry, but that isn't a serial number. You probably found it on the yoke. The serial number on a Model 10-5 will start either with a C or a D. If a C, it will have six digits. If a D, possibly fewer.

Be sure to derive the serial number from the butt of the gun. That way you will know it is truly the serial number.

Maybe it was from the Noel, Missouri police department.
There are over 900 cities and towns over 1000 population in the USA starting "N".
