I was wondering if any one makes a finger grooves wood grip that fit the model 10. I'm looking for some options. I like the small, slim Grips original to the gun. If only some one made grips the same size with a wrap around finger grooves style that would be perfect.
The problem I have with new grips is they all look so big on the model 10, I just don't want the gun to look grip heavy..

The Altamont grips are about the best I've found. They have finger grooves and fit nicely in a standard size hand. I'll attach a photo of a Model 19 with them on it. It's a K Frame like the M10 you have. I should mention that the grips are laminated but look as nice as any I've seen including solid wood.

I'm not real crazy about big grips on a Model 10 either. Have you considered a Tyler t-grip style grip adapter? I have owned K-frame & j-frame Smiths for near about 50 years. I don't consider one of these revolvers with factory magnas complete without a grip adapter. Not exactly what you asked, but a possible solution.

You can also get a "grip adapter" from a member here on the form: BK grip adapters from "wrangler5". Good prices and rapid service.

Question: will the grip adapters mark up the frame at all. The finish on my model 10 is 98%..it would be 100% but there is a slight turn ring on the cylinder. Is it possible to put painters tape on the back of the adapter then install it so it won't mark up the frame.

Doc b those grips look nice on your gun with a HB , but I'm afraid they would look like a boat anchor on my pencil barrel model 10., the grip adapters seem to be a good alternative.
I did see a pic some place on the forum of some grips I inquired about. I have no idea who makes them, what there called, if they will even fit the model 10, or if I can even buy a set.. Lots of question..but they would be cool..let me find the pic and I will post it here, maybe one of you gents might know.

If your like me it seems every gun show I go to has a table full of laminate grips from some unknown maker. Some are ugly some are ok. A brown set of boot grips might be ok.
I personally use the tyler t grip on all 3 of my 10's. For some reason my pre 10 with a 5" barrel is a knuckle biter without it.

Another vote for the Tyler T grip. It may leave an impression on the grip where it butts up against it, but I believe any marks could be steamed out.

There are numerous grip manufacturers. Look at Altamont, who makes grips for SW&W. Don't overlook Hogue they have many styles where the back-strap is still visible, but have finger groove front sides.
