I purchased a S&W Model-13-1 in good condition, it has not been shot much, the trigger in DA is the best I have owned, SA is very good also. It shoots to the point of aim and is a pleasure to shoot.

The 13-1 I did not see to many on this forum is it not a favorable model or just not that many made?

I'm at the bottom of the Totem Pole here, and I can't even make rules for my own house ... That said, I think the rule is this didn't happen without pitchers!! ... ;) I onliest have one M13 - fairly late 4-incher - but it's ANIB ... so a nice piece to polish once in a while.

There were plenty of them made, 1974-1977. The Model 13-2 continued from 1977-82, etc. Relative to the Model 10, there weren't "many" made, but in the larger scheme of things, that isn't a fair comparison. :)

Note that the first introduction was the -1 (there wasn't a Model 13 "no dash"). The predecessor was a Model 10-6 chambered in .357 Magnum, made originally for the NY State Police. The FBI was one of the initial purchasers of the 13-1.

Nice 13 you have there! They just feel & shoot so well for me. (only have 1) 13-2. Bought it on impulse at the gun show because it was so nice and priced right. Enjoy your 13! Bob

I'm a fan of the Model 13 and own a Model 13-2 with a 3" barrel. Very nice to carry and shoot. No knock on the Model 10 (I intend to have some variation of that Model too) but I do love the versatility of being able to shoot .38 spl. or .357 mag. that the Model 13 provides.

You've got a great shooter there enjoy it.

Here's my 13-2 that came from over seas

I saw a 13-4 3" for sale at a local pawn shop last week - not near as nice as yours, a little surface rust and rubber grips, no box, docs, or original grips, and they were asking $659 for it! Yikes, says I. I like 13s a lot, never actually owned one but have had a 65 4". Yours is very nice, and a very practical revolver.
