S&W Model 15-2

I bought a S&W Model 15-2 a couple days ago from a local seller. If I dated it correctly using my S&W book, it's from 1963. It has some holster wear on the front of the muzzle and on the cylinder but for being 57 years old...it looks pretty good I think. it seems really tight mechanically, I'll definitely be shooting it once I can find some .38 special ammo locally...that stuff is hard to find. Both of my adult sons were impressed with it when they saw it, I suppose one of them will end up with it one day.

Congrats on your purchase! IMO, you can't beat the S&W Masterpiece models. They are like potato chips - you can't buy just one! Enjoy.

Congrats -- nice revolver. I've also been looking for .38 Special ammo for months. Found one box of hollow points last week. Went in another store yesterday and got all excited when I saw 30-40 boxes of .38 Special on the shelf. Unfortunately they were full wadcutters at $44.95 a box. I left empty handed and disappointed.

It just don't get no better than a Combat Masterpiece.
Mine is a dash-3, and also has a good few character marks.

I guess I should be thankful, and get out and shoot some. Ammo
is no problem for me. I have about 3500 loaded rounds of .38 sp
wadcutters and semi wadcutters, in addition to a couple hundred
rounds of plus-pee hollowpoints for my various guns in that caliber.
I accumulated the components, then bought a Dillon Square Deal B.

I carried a M15 for many years as an issued weapon. It's the Cadillac of the S&W line of .38s

Congrats. I recently got a 15-2, and am really liking it. I have several K frames and always liked the feel of the heavy barreled 3" and 4" models, but the 4" 15 is a nice handling gun. Now I want a Model 18 to go with it. Something like a Model 19 or 66 Mountain Gun wouldn't be too terrible either.

Really nice 15. Once you find some ammo to feed it, you will like it even better! That would make a nice companion to my Model 18.

The M15 is one of Smith's very best (if not THE best)! With all the S&W Revolvers I own - one of my M15's (have several) is the first one I will grab when heading to Range when in the mood for Revolver shooting.

BTW, good luck with it - it looks to be in great shape too!
