I did a search and didn't come up with anything.
I heard a rumor that S&W may bring back the Model 16 in
.32 S&W Long.
Has anyone seen anything from Smith on this?
Thanks!

Heard it before..

This may have been started by the same person who said that they were going to open the gates at GITMO BAY, CUBA so you could go on Liberty..that was in 1969 when I was stationed there and it probably has been continued to this day..I will believe it when I see it..or when I buy one and have it in my hot little hands..all5x

I like this response and agree!!
IMO if they brought out the model 16[realistically in the classic lineup] I don't think they'd have a lot of response. Now, if they did say a 16-5[since the 16-4 is out there] in 327 Federal then you'd have all the bases covered. The old - 32 long, the not too distant past - 32 H&R mag and finally the current hot rod the 327 Fed.

I'd love to see a new 16-5 in .327 Federal Magnum introduced. I posted a thread in the Wish List about it. I wonder if we could get up an online petition to convince S&W to produce it? (It's not like it'd be hard for them to do. Surely they kept the tooling.)

Better yet, since S&W seems be so loathed to "get with the program" and bring out something neat in a .327 Federal... how about trying to convincing someone like Lew Horton to do a special run?

Then like other Lew Horton releases in the past, S&W just may get interested enough to add it as a regular catalog item if sales were brisk enough. ;)

Its been quite awhile since Horton has had a really neat S&W revolver offering.
