S&W Model 19-3 Help

Need some pricing help asap. Found the above revolver, and have been looking for one awhile. Specs: 19-3, 2 1/2 inch barrel, wooden factory grips, p&r, has adjustable rear sight, and stainless front. Serial #17k65xx. Quick help with birthdate, and fair price. In excellent condition, box but no papers.
Nickel finish. Thanks In Advance.

Thanks for the quick responses. I'm a little torn between a 686-4 with all the trimmings, and the 19-3. I have some nickle guns, but stainless like the 686 is a little more forgiving.
They're both the same price, and I haven't tried to haggle on the price yet. I'm well aware that they won't be there long.
Shakespear said it well, "To buy (the 19-3) or not to buy, (686-4), that is the question."

They're gonna make M686s for a long time.
There ain't going to be any more Combat Magnums. Especially not P&R ones.

You know what to do....get the M19-3.

Well, I did it. I examined both, and felt like P&R stated. So I brought the 19-3 home with me. I'm totally satisfied with my decision, it is tight, and lockup is what I expect it to be. Haven't shot it yet, just got home. Thursday I'll polish it up, remove the smudge marks, and see what she's got. Thanks for the responses, and I think I did right. (paid too much, but it will go with my 19-3 four inch(

By the way, anyone can tell me why some of the 19-3 models had a stainless front sight, and others had the red insert?
Was it based on the year of manufacture, just what they had on hand, or some other etc? I'm talking about the mentioned above 19-3 in nickel finish.

I've never heard of a M19 with a stainless front sight.
Or any stainless parts for that matter.

Then on the 19-3, nickel finish that is the subject of the post, what would it be? It certainly isn't finished in nickel, and does not have the red ramp.

Can't do a pic, Jim. But it looks exactly like the front sight on my 66-2 stainless. The front sight is crossed-grooved, and the same size as the sight on my model 66. It is definitely a factory job.
Forgot to mention in earlier post, but has beautiful case hardened trigger and hammer. It is not a blemish on the gun, as far as I can tell.

I have a nickel 19 2.5... the front sight has a brushed finish rather than polished. I can see where you'd call it stainless. Just a guess, of course. If the front sight was replaced at some point, anything's possible.
