S&W model 27-2 4 inch

I know of a collector who has a S & W model 27-2. This is a Nickel revolver with a 4 inch barrel. It has presentation stocks and presentation box with cleaning kit. It has been in a climate controlled safe since new and has never been fired. These were only made i believe for only 2 years. He has not told me his asking price yet. I have seen only 2 other in 4 inch, but nothing like this one that in NIB for a 33 year old gun. Im thinking anywhere between $1100.00 - $1300.00 ? Any thoughts would be helpful....thanks

I have been looking for that same varation from 1980 on. I would happily pay $1200.00 . For a perfect specimen with all the accessories. You are not paying too much, at worst just buying a few years early.:D

According to my records, I got this one at the Orlando show 10/2010. Nothing but the gun. About 95+% with original grips for $550. Not that long ago. Be patient (when you buy that $1200 gun, another will show up for half that in a week), they are out there. Joe

I suppose that is a bit too much right now, and with a little patience you might find a better deal or the seller might come down. However, I think the old 27's were S&W's finest, and will be an excellent investment that could appreciate similar to the Pythons.

Then buy it also and average the price and you have a good deal on 2 guns. Larry

27

I have a 27-2 that I bought new for $203.50 It is a 6 inch blue model with a standard hammer and trigger. It is one of the most accurate handguns I own. It groups tighter than my 629DX. It is not for sale.

That is as lot of money,I would think that you should be able to find one under $1000.

I just got a MOD 27 6 inch grey box all tools & paper work nickle.I was glad to get it for $1050.

Well, it's been about2 yrs. three months since the OP asked. If he didn't buy it, I bet it's long gone now.
