S&W Model 27

My first 27 was a 27-2 4" Nickel. Guess I shouldn't have sold it, but I did get $650 for it. I've since replaced it with a 27-3 50th anniversary of .357 Magnum 5" and a pre 27 from 1952 6", both blued.

I will speak up in favor of the 6.5"......nobody else has!! On Christmas of 1965 when I was a junior in high-school and 16 years old, my dad gave me my first ever handgun, a '59 vintage 27 with the 6.5" barrel. In the next decade that pistol accounted for several deer and countless gophers, pop/beer cans, rocks, sticks, paper targets, and was used on one occasion to foil an attempted car-jack in an era before that term was even known or used. I think the 6.5" 27 is a classic, looks great, feels great, shoots accurately. I still have mine although it is now in honored retirement......much as I hope to be in a few more years!!

I'm having some trouble finding a S&W Classics Model 27 4" Blue NIB locally. I would greatly appreciate it if anyone could help me out.
You should be able to just walk into your gun dealer and ask him/her to order it for you.

My local gun dealer does not stock N-frame revolvers any more. However, he will order whatever I want.

I went to my local gun dealer today to ask if I could order a S&W Classics Model 27, but I was told by the dealer that they had zero available at their supplier warehouse and that they never had one in stock at their store. I have been checking GunBroker.com and GunsAmerica.com, but I have not had any luck. If anyone comes across one or has any knowledge as to where I could buy one, let me know. I have my eye on a S&W Classics Model 27 4" Blue NIB.

I have the model 27 6 1/2 " made in 1957. I got it from my father. I love shooting it and it is very accurate. Just shot it this last sunday. Had a ball. I also have a 15-4 4" as well. They are both great, but the 27 is my favorite.
