My oldest one is serial no. 12304 and my newer one which is actually a 46 is in the 44.000 series area. They translate to 1958 and 1963 I believe. Love them both. :)

All I want is...

To find a 7-3/8" compensated - or at least a 7" - barrel for my 41!

Thanks,

Kent

Hey, nice looking pistol set-up. I would also like to know how you mounted that dot. :) its nice and clean and I love it. Thanks for the post.

The M41 is probably 1959.

Here is the 41's poor cousin the Model 46. Note the difference in the slide and barrel. This one was presented to the Indiana State police at a match in 1965 by the Indiana Ford delaer's assocition.

TSQUARED, How accurate is the M46 compared to the 41?

No difference at all accuracy wise that I've noticed it's the same pistol almost.

Just no highly polished finish, no cocking indicator and they came with plastic grips. They have a slightly different slide to barrel fit also.

Nice thing about the 41 is you can have both barrels since the barrel is removable and the barrels are interchangeable. I have one with a 5.5" barrel and I have a 7" barrel on order.

I am buying a Model 41. Does anyone know if they have any problem with any 22LR ammo. also would you get the 5.5" bbl or 7" I am using it for target shooting only and have arthretic hands. I have other 22 Semi autos and they will not fire some 22 ammo.

Yes, but there are more than two barrels.......there are:

7 3/8" with Muzzle Brake
5" Field
5.5" Heavy
5.5" EFS
7"
5" Optics Only

Plus there are the Bully and Clark aftermarket barrels.

The Warranty Statement is dated 1955. The gun is mid 1960s per the serial number.
