I just wanted to show off a picture of my 1960 model 41 setup that I have. I have one more older barrel coming for it. I will mount a Red Dot that I have on that, then I am done buying for this gun. But man I really Love this thing. I shoot more now than I ever had. As you can see I made a bench rest for it, mounted on the frame is a factory tapped 7" barrel with a 2x7-32 mm Scope with a eye relief of 8-18". This is my favorite scope ( due to me having short arms, better closer eye relief ). In front of the rest is a 7" weighted older barrel, this is the barrel that came with the gun. On this barrel is a Bushnell Elite 2x6-32 MM scope. I like the quality of the scope but it's eye relief is a full constant 20". Almost to long for my arms makes firing it a little of a reach. On the back of the rest is a 5.5" heavy barrel. I use this for open sights, I don't use it very often though, I enjoy the bench shooting the most.
Here are the pictures.

As you can also see, I have started to go with nothing but CCI SV ammo.

Very nice -- and pretty grips, too! What are they, if I may ask? Smooth Hogues, perhaps? I've been thinking of getting some non-thumbrest Nills, but holy, moly they're expensive!

Grips look like Herrett's to me as they've the same profile . Here's my 5 1/2" Heavy Barrel with an Ultradot . Setup for Bullseye .

I've since added a 7" barrel.

Fun shooter...

Nice shooting. Looks like you have your 41 dialed right in. Good looking set up.

OP, the "7" weighted older barrel" you refer to is actually the 7 3/8" barrel and was the original barrel the Model 41 was issued with in 1957. In addition to the internal weights, you could mount external three piece weight sets, which were available in steel or aluminum. Here's one of my 7 3/8" barrels with the steel and aluminum internal weights, the three piece steel set and an aluminum upper weight.

Very nice shots so far; I don't a 41 "yet" but it's going to happen I hope within the next month or so.

So what brand is the 2x7-32 scope on the OP's 41? I'm thinking of running a 2x or more scope as well and would like brand recommendations for pistol specific use and I don't have the longest arms either....

Thanks and Happy New Year!

Guys, your 41's sure make me want another one. I've owned several over the years and at one time had one with all 4 barrels and the weights. Then I got into revolvers and........................

greetings from ireland

here is my M41 along with my 617

Here's # 3160, a special-order variation that shipped on October
10th , 1957.
The owner's name was script-engraved on the gun by factory engraver Russ Smith.

I've been looking for the right 5.5 inch gun for a few over a month now. I'm not going to pull the trigger until I find the right one for me. I guess I'm picky

Now I need a barrel longer than 5.5" ;)

Here's mine with a BME mount and a Burris FastFire II.

I use it for steel shooting. If the dot's on it, it's a hit.

Thanks HK! Been wanting to give steel shooting a try and was wondering how to mount a FastFire II to my older 41 (mine looks just like yours).
The FF II mount was not showing on BME's website, but I just got off the phone with John Chernick. It's in-stock and one is headed my way... Thanks again!

I'll play...here is one of my 41's with the threaded Clark barrel, a Silencerco SS Sparrow, and a Aimpoint Red Dot.
