S&W Model 41-scope ring height

I just purchased a used Redfield 2-6X EER to mount on my 5 1/2 inch barreled Model 41. The barrel already has a Weaver #62 base on it. The objective of the Redfield is not enlarged-(only 1 inch in diameter). Of course, the eyepiece is larger as is the turret. I don't have the scope in hand yet and I am wondering if I should order low or medium rings to mount the scope?

All right--I realize this is too difficult. How about telling me what height rings you used on your Model 41 with any scope?

Do a little homework. If the scope is still in availability or thru Google you should be able to find the objective dimension and then calculate the ring height.
Medium might be overkill depending what brand you use.
My guess is that most 41's use a red dot vs. a conventional scope.

For anyone facing this question, the answer is yes, I was able to use low rings(but it was close). Weaver #62 base, Burris #420080 black gloss LOW 1" Zee rings and Redfield 2-6X EER(back when they were entirely made in the USA). Even with all the parts in hand, it is hard to determine fit until you actually mount it.

Looks like you were able to get down as close to the bore axis as possible, and this is a good thing. Things were simplified by the fact that the rear sight is stationary and doesn't require the clearance that would be needed if it were slide mounted and cycled back and forth with each firing. With my High Standard I had to remove the rear sight unless I wanted inordinately high scope mounts.

Thanks for adding to the knowledge base with detailed listing of parts and the excellent, clear photographs. This will be something other folks can refer to and avoid difficulties that otherwise might arise.
