I recently purchased this little revolver at what I think was an excellent price.
Serial # 6142XX. Chambered in 32 S&W long. To my untrained eye, it shows no sign of having ever been fired. The grips are numbered to the gun. My limited resources have been slightly confusing in identifying the specific model and year of manufacture. Some sources refer to it as a pre model 30. While others refer to it as a 32 hand ejector. Also some confusion as to the approximate date of manufacture. If this makes any sense at all ... the serial number, ramp sight, and flat latch all appear to point to different years. Any help from the group with any identification is greatly appreciated.

The company called it a .32 Hand Ejector. "Pre-Model 30" is collector-speak. Same gun.

From your post, I'll assume it isn't stamped MOD 30 in the yoke cut. That being the case, it would be a .32 HE from before 1958 or so. I believe it would be a New I Frame unit (post 1953). Jim Carter (Hondo44) can probably give you more specific information based on the serial number.

Thank you. I wasn't sure about the frame. I took the grips off of one of my J frames. They fit this 32. Not sure if that means anything or not ? I'm wondering if this might be one of those "transitional units ???
