S&W Model 41 Target date of manufacture

Hi All,
A friend just bought an "in the box" Model 41 22lr target pistol, all original. LNIB condition. he asked me to help him find out the date of manufacture. The sticker on the box doesn't refer to any date. Serial # A673873. Can anyone help identify the date?

1980ish according to the SCS&W.

1981 ship most likely, but S&W/Jinks for specific date shipped.
