I use RCBS dies for my 460 mags. They allow you to do what they call a neck down crimp (I think). It crimps the case into the crimp groove. It takes the roll crimp further and forces the case into the crimp groove, so now a small ring of the case is the same diameter as the slug.

I hope this helps some. I've never had the need for a Lee FCD.

Lee is the only mfr I know of that makes the Factory crimp die (collet). Don't know if it's a stock item now, when I got mine a couple years ago, it was through thier custom (rifle)die process. I had to send them an empty case with a bullet seated into it, and a couple weeks later they sent me back the die.

They're nice as 1) brass length isn't critical, and a good hefty crimp can be applied without worrying about crushing the case.

I do know of many others though that use a traditional roll crimp.

???????? Suggestion. Don't make up abbreviations.

If you are asking for alternatives, there aren't any.
