i would sell it for about 800 buks, but i dont need to sell.i have my eye on another kimber at the moment.

Cool -- didn't even know there was a 520. Pics are always fun. ;)

I am not trying to steal the original poster's thunder. However, I am confused just a bit. I have an S&W Model 520 (on the frame) that is blued, has a titanium cylinder and a composite barrel. I really like this piece, and it shoots VERY well. But-t-t, what do I REALLY have?

Hey Dale,
You have the recent reencarnate Model 520, which as you can tell is a different beast than the one described by the OP. Fine pistols in both cases, just different.
The original 520 is some what of a Holy Grael to most Smith guys, as there were so few of them made. They were specially ordered by the New York State Police, then the order was counceled, and I believe they went to the Model 13.

Slightly off Chromedhearts-NYSP took delivery of S&W Model 28 Highway Patrolman revolvers.
Here is my set-The Model 520 and a near mint NYSP marked 28-2. Both scored from gun shops less than 20 miles from my house:D
