S&W Model 53

Never tried those as I was lucky enough to have original inserts for all my 53-- now that they are gone I am just stuck with all this brass- one unopened case and a bunch of loose pcs-- all new at that.;)

Ammo

Whatever "PIA" means? I will assume you are looking for factory ammo which is not what you should shoot in a 53! The original ammo was made too hot and it will erode the barrel throat in a very short period. Find some reloads that have been reduced a little and enjoy the gun. An added plus, you will not have any problems with stuck cases.

Thanks Guys. I recently acquired a model 53 8 7/8" barrel. I'm a short barrel K or N frame kinda guy, but this gun dropped into my lap for what I thought was a bargain. Had to admit it was really cool, so I jumped on it.
Now I have to acquire "stuff" to shoot it. Loaded rounds, Brass, Dies, or best of all - a .22 LR cylinder.

Thanks IWK2HT,
They are kinda pricey, but the ability to shoot .22 LR might be worth the cost in the long run.

If you want to shoot .22 long rifle ammo get a K22. The Model 53 is the Ultimate .22 Magnum. The necked down .357, flame throwing, ear drum piercing, no recoil, 2000 fps humdinger is where all the crazy fun is at.

Any questions?
