I recently purchased the Model 627 PC with the 2.67" barrel. I am not a fan of the newer S&W barrels or, I should saw, the PC barrels. I did see there was once a 627 V Comp 3" available.

I am looking for suggestions on where to find a replacement for my 627. Thank you in advance!

Are you looking to replace the whole gun or just the barrel? Trying to find a 627 V-comp will probably be difficult and trying to find just the barrel, probably next to impossible.

No joke! As soon as I picked it up from my FFL I started to think I should have got a 3" Model 66 for near half the price. I think I will see if I can get a Model 27 barrel and maybe my gunsmith can work his magic.

If the 627 PC 2 5/8 barrel does not have the lock, then it is one that is sometimes called the Bloodwork gun, as one with a fluted cylinder was used by Clint Eastwood in the movie of that name. There were only 302 made and they are quite valuable. If it has the lock, then not so much!
