I'm a serious bullseye competitor. Having small hands, I'm looking for good grips on my revolver to replace the black Hogues. The latter aren't comfortable in my hands to shoot with. No matter what type of gun, a good grip is important. So I'm very much interested in what you have to say about this. Thank you.

SB or RB? If it's SB, you need Pachmayr Presentation Small grips (SN-S). I'm pretty sure that these are not made anymore, but they are around, and not expensive. Other than that, I believe that you will have to go custom. Over here, Herrett's. On your side of the pond, maybe Nill?

If you have a RB N, maybe Hogues that take advantage of the RB, NOT "conversion" (RB-SB) grips. Again, possibly Pachmayrs, or maybe even RB service grips (Altamont?) and a Tyler. There are probably other ready-made RB grips that would serve, but I don't know for sure what would be best for you.

What are you shooting? It is hard to imagine anyone using an N-frame revolver in what we call bullseye competition, other than possibly a 25-2.

We can compete in bullseye shooting with this revolver in a class called "super caliber" or so. You can enter with a 38 or 9 mm on, but I like to it with a real big caliber.
I heard of Nill grips, but guess they are expensive.

Ahrends grips seem to be suited for smaller hands. They're good looking too.

I replaced the ginormous factory grips on my 25-2 with Pachmeyer Presentation large grips.

My hands are pretty good sized for a woman but quite small compared to most of the guys I know.

Try the Wooden Hogues Monogrips with finger grooves, smooth, no checkering. My hands are small too. These are THE ONLY grips I buy. They're on my Python and 27-2.

Thank you all for all the tips. Nill will probably be the way to go. They come from Germany, and that's in my backyard... :-) They are indeed expensive.
Being on their website reveals a lot of choice. Replacement grips with open backs, special grips. And their matchgrips are looking tempting too.

Wantmoresmiths: i've been checking out your reply through the link. What kind of grip is this exactly? Could it be "replacement grips with closed back"? Looking at the picture, it looks like it.

I'm not really sure which model grip they are. As I noted, they came as part of a pre-owned model 627 package.
