I got an email from a friend who tried to order some magazines direct from the factory. He was told S&W is not shipping any magazines to states in which certain cities have restrictive laws. I suggested he try CDNN or Top Gun Supply.

I said once a few states fall to these new capacity magazine laws the rest may follow. It's the dealers who don't fully know the restriction laws on the magazine laws for each state so there putting restrictions on every state and city they know nothing about.

We need a nation wide ccw permit that will allow us good gun guys to carry from state to state with any magazine capacity we choose. We need a nation wide ccw permit that allows us honest gun owners to purchase firearms in any state too. Ease up on the good honest gun guys and tighten up on the bad guys. Make the ccw card for purchasing ammo too.

I hope this is not so,I want to get a couple more magazines for my 9c. A LGS has magazines for the Shield and the 17 round ones for the full size but none for the Compact in any caliber. I do not live in the Chicago area.

Amen to that. Nation wide CCW laws/permits would sure take away a lot of questions and headaches. Only thing I see it doing now is setting up all abiding citizens that carry, to fail thus breaking the law. One set of rules for all the states would make life alittle easier.

I'm sorry, but I do not want the Feds involved in any way, shape, form, or fashion with Georgia gun law. I'll guarantee you that any Federal permit that could be ironed out would be more restrictive than what we have in Georgia. Be careful what you wish for. Suppose Congress passed such a law, and a president signed it, and that law mandated that states were required to abide by the Federal law rather than the state? Someone who lives in a restrictive state right now might like such a law, but those of us lucky enough to live in a relatively free state would hate it. This is one of the few things I disagree with the NRA on.

Better to rescind all the Federal Laws and allow states to pass gun law. (That is wishful thinking, I know.) I am a believer in the Constitutional concept of Federalism; leaving most lawmaking up to the individual states.

I had to register my large capacity mags anyway.

If we had one national law across the land for ccw carry instead of every state and some cities being different.

Chicago just fell into Lake Michigan.....

And the good news is that climate change will melt the ice caps making the oceans rise and flood Washington DC, New York City, New Jersey, a lot of California and a good part of Chicago!! Why would anybody not want climate change? :D

As long as they don't require:

Permit to buy gun

Permit to buy ammo

Permit to buy reloading equipment

Permit to buy accessories

Registration in any way, shape, or form.

Records of transactions between individuals.

Restriction on magazine capacity beyond the current 30 rounds.

FOID, whatever that is.

In short, as long as these proposed laws weren't any more restrictive than current Ohio law, then I may be willing to listen.

Maybe...

Now that you make me think of it. Might be worth talking to a few tribal elders about traditional rain dances.
If it works, it could be a national sensation.

The thought of one big blanket covering all states in a way would be great but does frighten me. Who would regulate it?
