I'd agree, if yours was the only pistol involved in this recall. It isn't.

I agree with JEM Sent mine in the same day as his and was told it would be 8 weeks. Not hardly. Been nearly 14 now with no end in sight. I sent in a Ruger LCP and had it back in a week with a new mag and a hat to boot. S&W needs to take a lesson from Ruger. This sucks!

Sent it out in March, got it back in June, bought it new grips just because I missed it in July.Glad to have it back home!.

The Ruger recall of the LCP which had been on the market for less than a year in no way approximates the Smith & Wesson recall of two models they've been producing for the past 7 years. What really sucks is this attempt at a comparison.

Comparing S&W's handling of a recall to Ruger is not fair. Ruger has had a lot more practice at it.

My point is, I was told eight weeks to do the repair. Fine. So get it done in eight weeks. Not fourteen and counting. Say what you will, S&W does not know how to manage this recall, and this "service" is totally unacceptable. Period.

Mine was received April 7 and I am still waiting. Beginning back in May I started calling and they told me each time I'll have it in about 2 weeks. Well, I've called them every 2 weeks since then and I still get the same BS answer. At least this past Friday they sent me an email saying about 6 more weeks. My pistol will be there 4 months before I get it back. That's poor service IMO

I would still be kinda irked if I was told one date and it kept changing, but thats a good one........

come to think of it...What else has S&W recalled in recent history?

Mine just got back today you should have it or soon. Call them and get the tracking # -- the date I sent mine in vs yours is only few days off.

I guess the point ex-trooper is making is that S&W has a whole lot more guns to fix then Ruger did and probably (Smith) more complicated ergo more work per gun. Eight weeks seems like a long time; I can understand your angst about the delays - but give them a chance to do it right.

I have to send my Colt New Agent in for a recall, need to do that.

Mine returned yesterday. Is a le gun and I believe took way too long to return it cost s&w 40 pistols because now we carry sig p229.

But, speaking of Sig their new 380 (P238) was just issued a recall too.
