S&W just put out a press release saying they had shipped 7,500 M&P 9mm pistols to the US Military for use by Iraqi military and security forces.

The press release went on to say that S&W had shipped 80,000 pistols into Afghanistan and Iraq for use by military and security forces. That is a large number of SIGMA pistols shipped.

I am not sure about this, but I think that means S&W shipped more pistols just to Iraq and Afghanistan than other companies make in a year, according to the BATFE numbers published in the Industry magazines.

You'd think news like this would impact their stock price, but Nooooo.

Maybe the price they got for them is so low that they didn't make a profit on them. But in the long run they may benefit by getting those guns out into the hands of the military folks.

The 80,000 to Afganistan were purchased by our government and were shipped in the last 2.5 years...the 7500 to Iraq were sent in uniform shipments for the last year. The media seems to be a little behind the actual dates, but never the less it impacts different quarters of profit associated to the stock pricing.
