Any recommendations for good reference material on S&W revolvers?

I just picked up Jim Supica's book "Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson" but not sure what other resources are valuable.

My interest is primarily with Modern Era (20th Century to present). I'm learning a lot on this forum on the various model, engineering changes for each Model...etc, but those brain cells have a tendency of dying and I forget what I learned.

No takers?

Either my question is so stupid and the answer so obvious that everyone is just disgusted or info is classified and I don't have the need to know ;)

Just saw your post. Here are my S&W books (besides the SC of S&W of course):

History of S&W - Roy G. Jinks
S&W Revolver Collector Handbook #25 - Ian Skennerton
S&W Price List of Parts Catalogue P-2 - S&W
Images of America S&W - Roy G. Jinks and Sandra C. Krein
S&W Handguns Revolver sales sheet - S&W
Artistry in Arms, The guns of S&W - Roy G. Jinks
S&W American Model - Charles W. Pate
History of S&W Firearms - Dean K. Boorman
Gun Digest Book of S&W - Patrick Sweeney

There might be one or more that could get your attention :)

Jorge: Thanks. Seems many are for the collector and I'm not there yet, but the History of S&W plus the Gun Digest book look interesting for my immediate purposes.

Your welcome. The Gun Digest Book of S&W you can find on Amazon for instance. With the History of S&W book you have to watch out. I paid $50.00 + shipping but some people are asking way, waaaay more... so just browse around the internet and keep looking ;)

Also, there are other books as well. I'm sure we have members here with more/other books they can recommend.

Good luck.

Thanks again. Just ran a search of the History of S&W book and you were right about the prices. Low is $28.00 but most in the $100 plus range.

Check out the classified section here on the board. Sometime you can find books there as well ;)

The Standard Catalog of Smith & Wesson has a very good section on other books dealing with the subject in one of the early chapters. That is how I learned of most of the books I own.

Thanks. That is the one I have heading my way.

Expected to see a sticky on the topic somewhere on the forum, but did find posts here and there with the information.

Change one on the History of S&W book. Cheap one wasn't by Jinks. That book can get pricey.
