Is there any collector value in an original S&W Reloading guide? It looks to be in real good shape with no torn pages.

I took a couple quick pics so you could get an idea of what I was talking about.

Thanks, Longone

Someone....anyone? Is it good for firing up the grill or is it worth $10? Someone must have a guess they are willing to share.

Thanks, Longone

I might be worth a couple of bucks to a collector who has to have everything S&W. What's the date of the Guide? Ed.

There really is nothing that spells out the date it was printed unless you can decipher this code below.

Maybe 2/78 ?

These guides were shipped in the box with a pistol or revolver in the 1970's when S&W owned the ammunition company in Rock Creek.

So these should be pretty common then if they were with every new handgun. Although the pages are starting to get a little yellow from age the overall condition is very good. I have worked out a trade with a member here so I hope he enjoys it.

I'm surprised such a document exists. Seems like all the mfgs always warn against using reloads in their guns.

At that time, Smith & Wesson made all the components for reloading.
They pushed their own brand for reloading. I have .44, .38, .357 and rifle brass all new in boxes, along with heads, primers and powder.
By the way $10.00 for that guide is spot on for price.
