S&W SD VE Series is the Best Kept Secret in the Firearms World!

I just acquired the sd40ve myself yesterday. I wasn't expecting much, boy was I pleasantly surprised! It is not my Glock 23 but I will carry it and not feel unprotected at all. Hats off to S&W, yall done good! ><> del

Yeah, but that's $10 higher than last time so I wonder if demand is picking up for them....;)

Not that I'm complaining, but I don't know why Academy Sports puts them on sale at all...they can't keep them in stock at $319!

I almost went for the SD9VE but ended up with the FDE M&P 9 kit from Cabela's for the third mag and loader last year (and, yes, the FDE color). I keep toying with the idea of a SD40VE but also am interested in a M&P 45c. If only they had a SD45VE I'd probably be set with one relatively low cost purchase...

As far as grip add one, has anyone had experience with talon Grips? Mr. Hickok45 on Youtube swears by them on his GLOCKs.

TALON Gun Grips for Smith & Wesson SD9, SD40, SD9VE and SD40VE

I love the rubberized Talon grips, but normally only use them on my single-stack pistols. Traction grips are another option, usually cost less, but don't wrap completely around the grip like Talons do. They supply great purchase, but don't alter the basic shape or size of the pistol's grip.

A bargain for sure. I owned a Sigma in 9mm that I put 2000 flawless of my reloads thru. I was impressed. The upgraded model at that price is unbelievable. What's not to like?
