i live in mass. and can only legaly have 10 rd mags. i ordered a couple 10 rd mags for my full size m&p 9mm off the smith and wesson website. well i got 12 rd. mags for the 9c....wish i had a 9c, id keep the mags. hopefully when i send them back they'll send me the 17 rd mags for the full size .....not sure how they goofed, you would think they would double check the orders. and yes i double checked my order form so i wouldn't get the wrong ones

Didn't you state you could only have 10 round mags or am I missing something?

The mags are not illegal - it is just illegal for you to own them there... They will no doubt correct their mistake...

Put .45's in them and they'll be legal ten-rounders.:D

I wouldn't send the mags back, I'd buy a gun they would fit.

Regards.

Bob

About as serious as well...To acquire the possession of a high cap mag post ban is a ? year felony sentence in Cali and permanant loss of firearm rights. Probably the same there..May not be wise to try and keep any regardless of why since they can be dated and tracked back to their source..They even have counted your shots at the ranges here occasionally and questioned it...

The Ruger SR9 comes with 2 17 rounders had to go buy 10 rounders to be in compliance. Some states are very sticky with nuisance Laws by un-knowledgeable people.

I live in Kalifornia and I've found most Vendors are well up on the current regulations. I might order a 20 round magazine, but they won't accept the order....most companies are more concerned with retaining their business options than violating State law.

Unfortunately, you live in a marxist state. Instead of posting on the open web about your failure to comply with an unconstitutional law (what part of shall not be infringed do these people misunderstand?), my suggestion would be to send the mags back to S&W so that they can correct their honest mistake.

So, S&W made a mistake...have you never made a mistake?

I don't know about you, but I'm not perfect...I'm so close it scares me sometimes, but still not perfect. :p

You cant hurt anybody with only 10 rounds. Give people 17 and we'll have a killing spree.

They should cap the top speed of all cars in mass and ca at 100 mph. 150 mph is outrageous but 100mph is ok. Much safer.

I moved out of CA in 2009. Glad i did.

Funny, somethimes I think 10 round mags as something I could live with. I'm not even too sure why I feel that way, because I don't want any laws restricting gun use and ownership; I'm very Libertarian in that aspect. But 10 round mags makes the anti-gun people feel like they're doing something when in reality, they're doing nothing. Internally I get to point and laugh.

my glock 30 only holds 10 rounds in the factory mags. my lcp also has 10 round mags... if i need more than 10 rounds i got bigger problems than a handgun can take care of. granted at the range i use the biiiig mags that i can own LEGALLY down here in the durdy, durdy, south. sorry you live in a state that has silly, arbitrary, gun "laws". i'd get the heck out of there if i was you ;)

Sir,
You just do not 'get it', really, do you?
Now go think about your post and come back & tell us that you have it figured out. Or not. I am sure there are lots of boys here who will help you 'get it'.
ps. you are not Libertarian even a tiny little bit.
You are obliged to educate yourself.

Let's not stray off into politics, shall we? Or perhaps discuss this further in the 2A forum.

In any case, despite my facetious answer earlier, I'd just consider it a mistake, allow S&W to rectify it (as I assume you would want the opportunity to do, if you yourself had made a mistake) and move on.

Receiving hi-cap mags unintentionally is not breaking the law (in Cali, anyway). Just return them..... In Cali it's a misdemeanor to import, export, sell or manufacture hi-caps. The statute O' limitations is 3 years. After that, your golden.
