There was a thread on SW lowering the price on J frames.

I was at the local shop and some new ones came in packed in cardboard boxes. Not as nice as the old time ones but they actually look pretty nice. Have the folded cardboard retainer inside, a piece of closed cell foam, the SW no rust paper, etc.

I think I like it better than the plastic boxes.

Wouldn't it be cool if they shipped revolvers in the gold picture boxes again?
I wish they'd pick just one model and "retro" it for awhile. And not the Classic series that's not classic either.

No. We wouldn't want to do anything considered old fashoned.

Good. I never have warmed up to the plastic boxes. Look cheap. Rather have the cardboard boxes... with some nice factory type printing. I just prefer them. JMHO

They are a nice Blue with S&W on them and a American flag made in USA.

If I remember I'll try a get a picture.

Of the guns delivered to the shop last week,
BG380s in cardboard.
SD9 and SD40 came in the blue plastic boxes.

I too noticed this for the first time today at the gun show. Lots of new S&W's in cardboard boxes.

All new 642/442/637 J-frames, as well as the bodyguards and several other models. Fine by me as long as the prices stay at the lower level.

Smith & Wesson has sold us out again!!!!!!!!!
Plastic boxes are baddddddd for the enviroment-you need oil to make plastic and it's not biodegradable so they went to cardboard to placate the tree huggers and Al Gore global warming zealots.
