I follow a website that has a number of firearms, both new and collectible, and I am interested in two different Colt revolvers.

One is the Officers Model Match and the other is the Officers Model Target.

I don’t have access to the Colt forum so I am reaching out to y’all for input regarding these sidearms.

Prices are about the same for either. Just curious if there is a major difference.

From my limited expeareance. The omt and match were one in the same. It seems later guns were marked match in the 38's and .22's like 5th model. I am not sure about the earlier .22's. The 5th model has a adjustable rear for elevation and windage. The 4th and earlier models elevation is at the front site. They both shoot good. A few other differances are checkerinf on differant parts of the gun by model. Earlier models had checkerd back strap and ivthink trigger and cylinder release/ latch. I have a 5th model .22 a 4th model 38 and 32. All shoot lights out.

I have looked at that information. I have searched for as much information I can find. Looking for those that have owned/shot these two and their thoughts. Thank you for sharing this.

If you have access to the internet you should be able to go to the Colt forum . I joined when I bought a 1943 Colt 1911 A-1 and traded into a GCNM Super Elite 38Super . There's a wealth of info there and a great bunch of people , more than happy to share their knowledge , just like here . You will get plenty of answers if you ask , or just do a search .

I've had two Officer Model Match ,22s ('57 and '68) for many years along with two Troopers ( '54 and early '60s, I think). All shoot very well. Buy one you like in good shape at a price you can afford. I doubt you will see any accuracy difference between the models.
