S&W single action revolvers!!

How cool would it be to have a S&W single action 45 lc, 357 or 44? Replicas of a sense of the old colt's I bet they would give the Ruger vaqueros a run for their money.

honestly I think the market for this is flooded with all the italians showing up. They used to have the schofield replica but they did not sell that well and I know a number of shooters who had issues with them(yes I am talking about the S&W made guns)

I'd rather see them produce an affordable Schofield model...that's what they actually made back in the day. I don't think they could produce a SAA clone at a price point that would compete with Ruger or the imports unless they contracted most of it out...they would have to tool up for a completely different gun they've never made before, and that would mean an expensive custom shop type item that would inevitably be pitted against the Colt or the USFA versions.

Really thats what Ruger did with their 1911 line, and the market is probably flooded with more 1911s than single actions at this point...just saying...

Hmmmm...good point on the Ruger 1911. But Ruger casts everything...I wonder if that makes it cheaper to manufacture something they hadn't previously made before? In any case, I'd bet the 1911 appeals to a much bigger market than the single action revolver does...aside from SA revolvers designed for hunting (adj. sights, cut for scope rings, etc.) the Cowboy Action shooters seem to make up the bulk of single action buyers.

I would also be first in line if they started reproducing these. I love them but needless to say, due to price, I dont own one

Id buy one in .44 russian if they made them. Even a high gloss SS that looks like nickle would be cool.
