Can't believe it. I actually received one of my grip orders from the Smith & Wesson shopping site's blackhole today. Maybe there's hope. I know others mentioned waiting extended periods.

Maybe there's still hope for the order I placed and paid for last November or December (been so long I forgot). I'd given up as a lost cause. When did you place your order?

4/29/14

They skipped over my earlier order of 4/9, probably still out of stock. Both orders were for square butt style wooden grips, which the website seemed to imply were in stock.

I ordered a rear sight blade back in January. Asked about it in February and was told they were experiencing a "delay" and would process my order "shortly". So its been about 6 months and still no sight blade. If they can't fill the order why don't they just say so. Those of us who have been around a while remember the bad old Bangor Punta days. Lately Smith is starting to remind me of Bangor Punta when it comes to quality control and customer support. If they don't get it under control soon it's not going to end well for them.

Hi, at_liberty. Happy that you got your grips!
How long was your wait? I've got a new to me M60 that I would like to refit with
grips like the ones it came out of the factory with, but reading your post has me hesitating to place the order.

Ordered grips from S&W in January, gave up and canceled the order in May. Then heard about Gripseller over on Ebay from this site, bought the exact grips from him, had them in 2 days.

Guess who will never deal with the S&W store again?

I am in the same boat. I don't recall when I ordered them. At least three months ago.

Have they refunded your payment yet? :(

I may cancel my order also.

Since I don't know the whole story I will refrain for dumping on them for this.

However I watched a video this AM about work done at the Sand Burr Gun Ranch[/url]. In it the gunsmith, D. O. Riechard, was working on a model 686 which came from the factory mis-assembled and with an incorrect angle on the sear. That is troubling.:eek::eek:

Could that have happened outside the factory? Misassemble, perhaps. Are there pieces that could be so assembled?:confused::confused:

Incorrect angle on the sear? Not likely but possible. But this is not first hand information.

Bottom line is that I am still buying some new guns and will seek warranty work if needed. After all, where would we go for quality (usually) guns (revolvers) if Smith went under?

Sorry for getting so far off topic.
