How has your service been? Just curious. My 41 is going on it's 2nd week at S&W. Has your experience been good/bad...timely or untimely? I'd like to know what to expect.
Please, no bashing if you where not satisfied with the work. Not what this is about. Thanks, Frank

Very Satisfied!!!

I sent my .460XVR back to S&W for a bad machining finish on the frame by the hammer where the seams meet. I sent it off Fedex (they sent the return shipping label), on Friday August 21st. They received it on Tuesday August 25th. I got the confirmation letter they had gotten it on Saturday 29th. I called them on Monday the 31st, and the man said it was in line and give it about a week. Well yesterday I got a call from home that Fedex had dropped off a heavy box????? I had ammo ordered so I thought it was that. When I got home shortly it was a box from S&W Customer Support. They had finished my repair and let me tell you it is PERFECT, they were fast and very courteous and the gun came back cleaner than when it left, which was pretty clean already as I had never shot it yet and in cleaning it when I brought it home from my FFL is when I spotted the machining flaw. I am very impressed and pleased as they sure took great care of my problem and the gunsmithing is a #1 professional job. The return slip was very brief, it said all frame characteristics have been examined and adjusted to our standards. So I think you will have the same great service also, as I am one happy and pleased customer. Good luck and let us know how it goes!

The very few times one of my guns required warranty service I was impressed with their timing. You may have delays due to vacations during August.

I think the last revolver I sent in for repair took about 4 weeks. Others have been around 2 weeks.

Smiths had my M686 for going on the forth week..
I called last friday & all the CS rep could tell me was that it was being serviced.. Nothing More, Nothing Less..
I'm gonna call again tomarrow to check on it again..
Just realy wanted to know how it was going & when it would be shipped back to me..
I'll be away from the house this Friday & Saturday because of the Knob Creek Machinegun Shoot..
Lets hope we both here good things very soon..

Got it today. Did not fire it. It should be ok.
The slide does have some light scratches on it. Sadly I'm not surprised.
I realize I'm not S&W's only customer but the repair was a bit untimely.

They had my 686 power port for a month to fix the cylinder. It never opened or closed as easy as it should have. Had them do a master action job at the performance center while they had it. Well worth the wait. Gene was the tech who worked on it, he turned a so-so revolver into a smooth as glass shooting iron.
