Not sure where to post this so, Mods, please move if I'm in the wrong place.

For the first time in 51 years, I've had to return a revolver to S&W for service. My 1970 Combat Masterpiece needed some attention and it was returned to S&W last month. I'm just wondering if there's a "typical turnaround time" or if it's dependent on time of year/model number/specific problem?

Thanks,
Dan

Well, they take 2 weeks off at end of the year. Depends on what is wrong with your gun and IF parts are available. How many guns in the que.. so it is really hard to tell.

That's what I figured...there really is no 'standard turnaround time' but, this being my first ever return, I had to ask.

Thank you!

Hopefully for you they are faster with guns then they are with Gemtec suppressors. They have had my GM 22 now for about 6 months. I call every now and then. They know what needs to be done since I informed them of what needed to be done and they agree and I approved it because I know there will be a charge and I informed them I was willing to pay to get it done. But they seem to need to get permission from God to actually take 15 minutes out of there lives and actually fix it.
Good Luck
Mike

My new M&P9 is failing to extract. Bad trait in a carry gun. I'll call them (no email any more) after Christmas. I hope they can fix it. Sooner the better.

At this time of the year (probably the worst time to send a product into any Company) there will be shut downs, vacations taken and all in all - will more than likely severely delay work. remember..... even the shipping is slow now!

There is no "warranty service" on a 1970 Combat Magnum and if it were mine, I might want to send it to someone that is far better qualified and able to service it. The folks that work at S&W these days are plastic mould operators and they can barely get that stuff right.
