Good Morning Friends,

Was just reading about Heroes on Iwo Jima, and other places. This world is a better place because of them. I have utmost respect for the Marines, Soldiers and Sailors that endured so much that we can still be free. They sure walked tall when I was a kid, and still do, if they can still get around. Soon there won't be ANY of them left. God bless all of you.

I hope you have had a good week and are having a good Sabbath. The MBH and I are staying home today instead of attending Worship Service. Not because we want to, or have too, but I had the hernia repaired on Friday, and my lovely wife can't drive at present because of an eye problem. I still feel like the truck ran over me, then backed up and did it again.

The tables have turned and she has to wait upon me for a few more days before I can resume my chores as designated driver, yard man, grocery buyer, and ....... You name it. Of course I would/will do it again as necessary.

We went to the range for a little while last Tuesday and had a great time, even though we hadn't been in quite a while. We all shot pretty good. Our oldest Daughter went with us and we enjoyed her company. It was my time and while I was shooting the center of the target fell out, and the Daughter said: "smart alec" before she could stop it. :-) I think it was an (the targer center falling) accident, but I'll never tell. She thinks I did it on purpose.

Please be careful, lots of my picking buddies have tested positive for the virus, and I don't want to lose another friend. Take care of your families and be thankful for each one of them.

I'm gonna cut this off, because I have about run out of gas.

Have a blessed and safe Sabbath.

Leon

Good morning to everyone. Here's hoping for an easy recovery for you.

It was a busy day yesterday. My honorary nephew (I'm a friend of the family and addressed as "Uncle") was giving a lecture on firearms law over in eastern PA so I went up to see him and got to meet his new fiancee. And of course, I had to stop in at a big local gun store a couple miles from the lecture. And would you believe it, a used shiny Smith & Wesson Governor followed me home. It was a long trip so I slept a litte late this morning and just sent my morning text message to my uncle.

It's going to be a busy day. I'm going to Gettysburg this afternoon to be installed as an officer in my local Sons of the American Legion Squadron. I've been the Vice Commander for the last several years, and I decided to sit for another term. I think it's the right position for me, because it's always good to have someone around as institutional memory who has been in the organization for awhile.

Everyone enjoy this beautiful day.

Ramble on. A beautiful Sunday. Tomatoes everywhere. Should be 79 today, but back into the 100s later in the week. YUK! Have a blessed Sunday all.

Good Sabbath Leon,

We had a great week. Morning walks are a little cooler.

Of course we mowed the lawn, again. I have a lot of weed-eating to do, if I keep the place pristine. I tracked my distance while I was using the weed-eater. It takes about two-hours because of a large, long ditch. The tracker showed 1.5 miles of walking! No wonder I'm so tired after swing that thing all morning! Quigley always accompanies me and growls at the thing the entire time!

It's a love-hate relationship with the property grooming. I hate it, but I know the day will soon come that I won't be able to do it anymore. I love the fact I can still accomplish the work. I count it a blessing.

MLW (my lovely wife) ordered a large oriental wool rug from Turkey. The delivery guys dropped it off on the front porch. I had to get it inside. Not realizing it weighted 150 pounds, I pulled my back attempting to lift it. And I should know better! If it don't kill ya, someone said, it makes ya stronger!

I shot in our club's 50 yard rimfire match yesterday. I had my highest score yet, but only came in fifth. These guys are good! I do so much enjoy these matches!

My old college-age roommate lives in Alaska. He and his son built this famous plane. It's a BearHawk. It's always good to hear from him!

We are in Rainbow City, AL, and visiting our youngest son, DIN and their two children. The boss (MLW) has not informed the chauffeur (me) how long we will be here. It's a five-hour drive.

Brother Leon, get well soon!

I pray a blessing for all-y'all! Have a great week!

had another really up & down week...
Tuesday & Wednesday focused on a high school friend at his mother's wake & funeral... Thursday was happy birthday to me and a lovely dinner at a new place (1st week open) Indian restaurant was fantastic... Friday was a free outdoor concert.. but there was a substitute band because of Covid.. they were ok.. was supposed to be a band that had an old professor of the MBH.. Saturday was Czechfest with friends.. came home & lost electricity with a huge storm.. finally got power back this afternoon... grilled dinner.. will return borrowed generator tomorrow... get well soon and here's to a little less hectic week this week...

Always a pleasure to read this post. My better half was not up to going to our worship yesterday but we did enjoy our streaming service from a fairly local Church.
Anyway the weatheris supposedto warm back up a bit this week so everyone be sure to stay hydrated well if you have to be outside for any length of time.
Hope everyone has a safe and blessed week.

Nothing but the Best Wishes and prayers for a speedy recovery Leon! Time is everything, so I hope you are able to get back to important things before long.
Serious storms here yesterday, so we had to shut the puter down....lightning strikes really cause problems here, so it's best to just unplug things.
Froze 6 quarts of stewed tomatoes yesterday.....more juice, salsa, and stewed will be put up in the near future. Gonna stuff and freeze green peppers today for Winter use.

Stay Safe.....Pray for Peace!

Happy belated birthday. I just had time to throw this together so you'll have to scrounge candles or road flares. Rejoice in the fact that you are 368 days younger than me. So...you've got that goin' for you...which is nice.

Thanks Rusty.......That's exactly where I'll be on Aug. 15th at 5 am with my trusty Win. mdl 70 in .280 cal.
