Good Morning Ya'll,

Ya'll means everybody. :-)

It was a cold 36 degrees when I got up earlier today. I got showered and shaved, then I started resetting the various clocks.

So now I have an extra hour to noodle on the computer, play the guitar, enjoy a homemade breakfast that I can smell right now. It's a miracle that I don't weigh 400 pounds.

Well, my favorite college football team lost yesterday, but, it wasn't my fault. I didn't loose any sleep or money over it. But, as they say, "just wait till next week! or year, whatever is appropriate.

I had a relative that worked for a short time at the same place I worked. Some of the guys harassed him about his football days, asking him if he played "fatback" instead of fullback.

Veteran's Day is next Thursday, so don't forget the vets in your family. I salute each one of you and the sacrifice you made to serve our Country. Lots of you don't mention your service or tour of duty. I knew a Gentleman that was on Iwo Jima, but never talked about it. He was a super guy, and passed away not long after I became acquainted with him.

As a kid, I was surrounded by Veterans and never fully appreciated them. Looking back, I realize that I walked among Heroes and Giants of men and women and didn't realize what it meant.

I salute each of you today, God bless all of you for your service.

Have a blessed Sabbath and hug a Veteran today. Remember to thank them their service throughout this week.

Good Sabbath Leon,

Thanks for the Veteran's Day reminder.

I too was raised by a bunch of quiet heroes who never spoke of the war.

My Dad was a disabled veteran of WWII and Korea. I asked him, when I was about six-years old "Why don't we ever go camping like the neighbors do?" His reply was "I slept on the ground in the Philippines, Guam and Okinawa. No more camping for me."

That was the extent of his talking about the war. On his deathbed I had him give me all his military history and I made notes on a legal pad. The detail of his experiences was amazing.

Now I know his history and even found he had a Bronze Star. He, his brothers and his Dad, never talked about the war.

Y'all have a blessed week!

A cool daybreak in Dixie.

Happy Sunday everyone. A break in the rain here. After Bible I'll get some wood in. Veteran's Day, looking forward to seeing all the flags and calling some vets.

Good afternoon, everybody. It started out a little nippy here in southcentral PA, but then it turned into a beautiful day to cruise US 30 between Gettysburg and St. Thomas, PA. I just got back from a District Meeting of the Sons of the American Legion. I belong to the Sons because I didn't serve in the Armed Forces but my maternal grandfather served in France during World War I. I'm Vice Commander of my squadron and I've become our representative at the District Meetings.

So now I'm home and watching the second half of the Cleveland Browns game. Everyone enjoy your day.

I served in the AF 1959-1963. B-52, KC135. Many were WW2, Korea, vets. One story. Sgt Gadoe? Gunner on a B-17. 3rd raid over the Swineford ? ball bearing plant. He went out blonde crew cut hair and when he came back ,his crew chief did not recognize him. Gray headed and gray skin. They were great card players and heavy smokers, drinkers and they lived life like there was no tomorrow. I learned what it was to be a MAN!!!
