Sad day

This log barn built before 1860 was destroyed
By a tornado today .This is on my father in law’s
farm .
There was a saddle in the barn that a
Union soldier used as part trade for a horse.
The other part of the trade was a rifle
that my brother in law now has.

That is sad - any chance of restoring it? Were you able to recover the saddle, or was it carried off?
Any insurance, I hope?

Saddle has been hung up in another barn.
It is in bad shape . Father in law was born
In 1932 and he said the saddle has hung
In same spot his whole life.
