Hachi was an Americanized movie of a true dog story from Japan, co-starring Richard Gere and a truly amazing dog.

Even those with hearts of stone will need an entire box of Kleenex to get through that movie.

The dogs need to be taken to the funeral.

They will Know and will have closure.

They deserve that much.

When my Dad passed, we let the dogs sniff his urn.

They knew it was him.

Dogs are smarter than we think they are.
