Safailand Comp I and Tuff Products Pouch

For quite a long time I have been trying to find the perfect speedloader pouch. I have purchased clips, nylon, leather, etc. I have tried to modify them many times to suit my needs with the little J frame Safariland speedloaders. I have tried these, Maxfire, and HKS. I have my personal reasons for the Safariland and stick with them. The other day I was in Cheaper than Dirt and picked up the Tuff Products 5 round Quick Strips and one of their small pouches. I have been using the Bianchi Speed Strips and Dillon's IHL leather wallets. I always carry two reloads. Lets just say it heightens my sense of security. Well I had an idea and it seems to be working. The Safariland Comp I fits perfectly in the little pouch. I place it between the front of the pouch and let the two elastic bands go behind it. It seems perfect since the Safariland doesn't have a knob to grasp, your thumb and finger slides easily down on each side of the loader as the elastic stretches. It works really well, is compact, comfortable to wear for long periods, and does not print. I've always preferred speedloaders over speed strips but could never find an efficient and comfortable way to carry them. Just thought I would share this with everyone. TC

If anyone is interested the medium pouch works better. It gives your finger and thumb more room to grasp the speedloader. Kind of like a speedloader pancake pouch. TC

Hmm, interesting hadn't thought of using one that way. Can you compare/contrast to the Safariland pouch that I'm currently using if you tried the Safariland?

I never had the desire to try those. They seem to stick up too far. I remember carrying vertical magazine pouches in law enforcement and they would bend over as you did. These Quick Strip pouches are small, flat, flexible, and don't look like what they are. They also do not extend above the belt. I've tried many types, Safariland clips (uncomforatable), Don Hume Six Packs (too big), HKS nylon (didn't work), etc. So far I really like these. TC

I understand. I usually have an untucked shirt and wear the holder on my right hand side so bending isn't an issue but if I tucked in, you can see the bullets through the holder.

I've worn the pouch with a tucked in dress shirt while on the way home. Going in the grocery store, etc. people don not even notice it. When in jeans my shirt tails are always out and I wear two of them. TC

Or two! Just wore one of mine into Alberston's grocers in dress clothes on the way home with it exposed. No one even noticed it. Very comfortable and convienent. And yes it goes on and comes off without undoing your belt. TC
