Going through holsters to weed out ones I don't need. Got this Safariland that I bought for M28/4", didn't fit. Need to ID what it's for to off it. I think they must not make these anymore can't find anything but tactical and law enforcement models. Any help appreciated.

Looks like it may be for 4" L frame.
You have a nice Safariland model 29 holster from the 1970's and 80's. I think you will find it is for a python, the L probably being for large frame and the C for Colt. Not sure what the *7 indicates. Check out ebay and you will see examples. They are good holsters, however they have a 2.25 inch belt loop and sometimes the sight track (plastic type material) can deteriorate.
