Sanderson Grip Hat-trick (pic heavy) - now even heavier!

I did get the 1911 stocks Sunday morning.

They're similar to Colt Ace stocks (fully checkered).

The S&W thumbrest stocks that were marked "K" by the dealer are actually N frame (better yet). 2 out of three ain't bad!

The thumbrest stocks on the nickel 27 are marked "6" and the ones on the blued .357 Magnum are marked "8". The ones marked "8" are longer and fuller than the other set. I wonder if it's related to hand size?

Chad,
The last pair- without the thumbrest- wanna trade 'em for some Franklins?

Nice ones Chad!

They screwed up though on a couple of 'em . . . putting the thumbrest on the WRONG SIDE of the gun!

You must be one of those weird guys who shoots right handed!

In any event, they are gorgeous!

Congratulations,

s&wchad, great find, great thread and pictures. Do you mind if I copy the pictures for reference. 29-1, thank you very much for the compliment. And I do intend on making some like these but have just been busy. Anyone know the significance of the number, my guess would be a model number or something to do with size, does the 1911 panel have a number on it? And I have to agree with Lee (can't believe I said that!) I really like the non-thumb rest set.

Chad,Keith,Lee, here's an older picture of a non thumbrest set ca.1956 with finger grooves on a 5" pre-29. Putting both Sanderson's and original Cokes together makes for an interesting comparison.
