I thought our resident experts on such things could tell me if these target grips are Sanderson or who might have made them.
The MatchTarget is 2nd generation from the mid '50's I think.
Seem very well made and there is a lot of intricate work around the magazine release button.
Any idea as to value?

No doubt in my mind those are Sanderson's. I cant tell you for certain if they were made by Lew or his son Don, but I'd guess Don. The checkering, borders and numbers on the back are a dead giveaway.

Great stuff, made in Michigan! ;)

Can you enlighten me on the difference between Lew and Don?
He pistol is early to mid '50s if that matters.

Lew was Don's father. He changed the name of of the company to Lew Sanderson & Sons at some point. I believe they started out in Detroit and moved to Milford. When Don took over the business, he advertised the company as Don Sanderson Stocks. His last address was in Evart. The quality of all was excellent. From what I've seen, earlier Sanderson stocks have jig marks on the back (similar to Roper's). Grips that I purchased from Don's estate do have the jig/nail marks. I'd love to hear any additional information that our members might have.

These threads contain a good amount of information.

I found this image of an old brochure that Mike Priwer posted and these grips are pictured on the bottom right. Pretty cool! 😎

I tried this set of Sandersons on a Woodsman Sport, but put the factory stocks back on. They were a bit over the top for a field pistol. Yours look great on that MT Woodsman!

They do look a little large for your sport. They would look to large on my Targetsman also. 😁
They look good on the Match Target though, very comfortable.
