Santana

HE'S STILL HOLDING THAT NOTE ON EUROPA.

BIG LONG TIME FAN, & the first concert I made the wrong choice & did not see 1969 & still haven't. A LONG list of EPIC concerts I decided to work or other dumb reason. Highlights: Santana, CSNY on the night Nixon resigned DOI, Simon & Garfunkel FOR FREE in central park, YES for the egg concert in New Haven, Pink Floyd animals. On & on.

I grew up in the Bay Area and several of the local rock stations would interview him often. Love listening to his music

I was a Santana fan until my wife took me to a Santana concert for my birthday. He made political statements several times in between songs. It was subtle, but it was there. I am a music fan. I go for the music, not a political lecture. If my wife hadn't taken me as a birthday present, I would have got up and walked out. Screw Santana.

I have enjoyed the music for many years, last saw Santana at the outdoor concert series in Long Island, NY many years ago. Did not know there was a political sentiment currently, that would affect my desire to see him in concert, however my enjoyment of the music remains strong.

If not the best guitarist of all time. The best alive today, I have all of his albums that I can find. My favorite Santana album changes with my mood, but I think that I listen to "Supernatural" the most.

Two of my favorites. Wife and I loved to dance to this one.

I often watch "Soul Sacrifice" from Woodstock. Except for Ten Years After, Santana stole the show (sorry, Jimi). This kid drummer is just nuts. Here it is here below. I think it's ironic that Santana is a well deserved millionaire musician and entrepreneur who wears shirts with this guy's face on them.

Song of the wind-Treat-all of the earlier stuff-Abraxas...He started out playing pretty much any instrument they handed him in his family's mariachi band-forsake not humble beginnings! The Woodstock performance was done on acid, reportedly. Some members said they didn't know they had been given it. Incredible synergy. The song "Oye como va found a long time perch on American charts, and was unique in that it was all in Spanish. An incredible talent, I listen to his music almost daily. My cat Roxi is a Santana fan-her favorite is "Song of the Wind."

ME & CARLOS DOWN BY THE SWAMP

We hunted & shot together a few times. Different guy, same name, from Jersey. I'd think CS the musician is a vegie/vegan, maybe the spirits alleviate his hunger??? ;)

The line, the sound....

We can't help but be dazzled by the Hendrixs and the Claptons. It's easy to say that someone with technical fireworks are great. But the sound and the line they produce is just as important.

In my book Santana is a great musician.

Excellent guitarist and love his music. I never pay any attention to the politics of any celebrity or act on it because if you do you would watch, read or listen to practically nobody because most entertainers are left wing and live in their own made up world.

Not a huge fan, but like some of his work: Winning, Smooth and Black Magic Woman come to mind.
