from left to right; nickel knurled, blued knurled, and aluminum knurled. i believe the nickel are late pre-war and early post war, the aluminum and blued 1950's

So the one on the left would go with a K 22 outdoorsman and the center would go with a K 22 masterpiece and right could go with a mid 50's K 22 masterpiece? Thanks for the info 410.

Hello Mitch
The far Left S.A.T. is a Nickel handle variety. These went with early Post-War Guns to the mid & even late 1950's time span I have seen them with Nickel guns as well as blued ones. The Middle S.A.T. is of Black Oxide Variety these were also Post-War time span and I have seen them with Nickel or Blued guns, being about the same time span as the Nickel one and the far right one is an Aluminum handled variety with a Modified blade that has been made Narrower than what it left the factory as, it would have been a Mid to late 1950's into sometime in the mid 1960's time span S.A.T. To have one for a Pre-War Outdoorsman it would be the very small seven row Knurled variety handle about Half the size of any that you have shown with a reduced shank on it about a third of the way down it's shaft and a very tiny tip to fit the Pre-War adjustable sighted guns...:)

1940-1948: Nickel plated steel knurled handle with (9) bands of knurling, blued shaft and long tapered blade.

1947-1958: Blued steel knurled handle with (8) or (9) bands of knurling, black oxide shaft and long tapered blade.

1956-1960: Aluminum knurled handle with (8) or (9) bands of knurling, black oxide shaft and long tapered blade.

For the pre war K22 Outdoorsman:
1921-1939: Nickel handle with (7) bands of knurling with blued shaft. These S.A.T.s were 2/3 the size of the post war S.A.T.s.
